Set Dressing | Lookdev | Lighting Maya ArnoldIn this project, I wanted to experiment with atmospheric lighting, specifically focusing on Gobo textures and Volumetric God Rays. Given the hallway environment, I was immediately drawn to an abandoned, overgrown, post-apocalyptic aesthetic. My goal was to create an eerie atmosphere that suggests a lingering sense of life within a world that has ultimately lost all hope.
Composition & Color Theory
To reinforce this sense of unease, I chose a very still, rigid, and symmetrical composition. The vertical poles at the edges of the frame create strict leading lines that draw the eye toward the center, evoking a feeling of being trapped. I utilized a high Color Temperature to bathe the scene in a cold, blue hue, emphasizing a distant and clinical feeling of isolation.
